What Am I?
- Madballs are toy foam balls originally created by AmToy in 1985, and revived by Art Asylum from 2007-2008 and Just Play Inc from 2017-2019.
- There were eight original Madballs: Screamin’ Meemie, Slobulus, Aargh, Horn Head, Dust Brain, Oculus Orbus, Skull Face, and Bash Brain.
- The toyline expanded into comic books, direct-to-video cartoons, and a video game for the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC and Commodore 64.
- All Madballs toys were conceived in the early 1980s by the creative team at American Greetings Properties, which was formally named Those Characters From Cleveland, or TCFC.
- Imitation toys also popped up, including Blurp Balls, Weird Balls, and Spit Balls.
